The day will begin with a lecture looking specifically at winter structure, discussing how to create movement and interest when much of the garden is dormant. Following a coffee break Ben will guide you through the importance of winter maintenance in preparation for the growing season ahead, detailing various seasonal tasks before taking a walk around the gardens to further illustrate aspects of winter maintenance. After lunch the day will continue outside, with a demonstration and practical session where you will learn how to create interesting growing structures and weave plant supports.
