West Dean campus

Our West Dean campus is nestled in the stunning Sussex countryside. With the South Downs to the north and cosmopolitan city of Chichester to the south.

Once a family home, West Dean was opened as a centre for education and training by Edward James in 1971. The campus consists of a mixture of historic buildings, breath taking surrealist-inspired gardens and rolling South Downs countryside.

Just a short bus journey from the bustling historic city of Chichester, offering a myriad of shops, restaurants, galleries, museums, cinemas and green spaces, it has everything you could need!

Heading out of the city you’re met with stunning beaches and harbours, ideal for windsurfing, paddleboarding and many more outdoor pursuits. For weekends and much-needed downtime, there are many walking and cycling trails around campus, including along The Centurion Way; as well as picture-perfect towns and villages such as Petworth, Arundel and Bosham.

BBC The Repair Shop's Kirsten Ramsay opens West Dean College:London

BBC The Repair Shop’s ceramics expert and West Dean Alumna Kirsten Ramsay officially opened the new West Dean College: London campus on Wednesday 24 April, alongside a range of expert makers demonstrating their craft skills - from weavers and leather makers, to Passementerie artists and painters.
