About this course

Learn the basics of screen printing on fabric, using paper stencils to create a simple linen panel.

Course Description

This is an introduction to the basics of screen printing on fabric. On this one day taster of printing, you will discover the simplicity and immediacy of this ancient technique of applying pattern and colour to cloth. We will begin with hands on demonstrations and your own initial test prints. After this you will be guided through the steps of developing a simple image or design, creating hand cut paper stencils, making colour choices and mixing your inks. These steps will enable you to create your own three colour placement print on a linen panel.

The panel can then be used to create a functional piece such as a tea towel or cushion front, later at home; Or to keep as an artwork or inspirational sample for further projects.
