MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MAKING - STARTING OR CONTINUING PROJECTS An exciting opportunity to either start making a new instrument in preparation to join our nine day course or to continue one you have already begun. If you are starting a new instrument or are new to these courses, please contact us before booking. Instruments should be selected according to your woodworking experience and interests. The tutor will contact you to discuss your choice and the materials required.


Peter Barton

Peter Barton studied musical instrument making under the direction of Roger Rose on the full time course at West dean.

Since 1986 he has been working as a professional luthier making classical and acoustic guitars.
He has also taught guitar making as a part time lecturer at Leeds College of Music and West Dean College.
