As an architect and artist, Jeffrey is interested in the relationship between man-made space, nature and the human condition. His works attempt to mediate between our incomprehension's of the natural world and the actual spaces that we can physically touch and inhabit.
Jen has perfected the silversmithing technique of hand-piercing. She uses the finest of saw blades to hand cut her designs. Her current work concentrates on making bespoke functional silverware of intricate city skylines and scenes. Each piece is exquisitely detailed and can be tailored made to commission, featuring images of special or memorable places. Jen’s drawings form the template with which she hand cuts the design from silver.
Jenifer graduated with a BA Hons in Three Dimensional Crafts from the University of Brighton in 1996 and since then has been making jewellery, lockets, small dishes and containers in precious and occasionally base metals. Every piece is hand made and is inspired by the natural world, with the two main sources of inspiration being seeds and seedpods and rocks and stones.
What makes Jessica's work unique is that each piece is a one off, the pattern, texture and form of each piece is different. The work changes every time you look at it or move around it, there is always some thing new to look at. Her work takes many forms; vessels, sculpture, jewellery and wall pieces. The pieces are hand built using either stoneware or porcelain that has been washed over with oxides and/or coloured slips to highlight the textures that are on the surface.
Jinks designs and makes jewellery in her Sussex workshop where she also runs training courses. All her pieces are created as one-offs, she takes inspiration from wonderful travels abroad – consulting at start-up jewellery schools in Afghanistan, India, Burma, Thailand, Nepal, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Sharing bench skills with jewellers from around the world has opened her eyes to the crafts’ honesty, differing techniques, cultural traditions and the rich history of jewellery.
