karin moorhouse -
Karin seeks to be in touch with her surroundings and to respond to how the day feels. Colour is variable and for her it carries weight and depth, light is the essence of each day, and so these elements are at the core of Karin's work. She is the observer and the participant. Standing apart and looking but the very act of standing at her easel means Karin is part of that landscape too. The edges of being and looking are blurred as are the edges of light and dark in her prints.
Katy Luxton Jewellery -
Trained as a traditional jeweller, Katy Luxton creates vibrant silver and nylon jewellery. She takes her inspiration from mathematical models, geometric shapes and the interwoven curves, circles and figures produced by a Spirograph toy – the moment when a line becomes a form. Using simple but expressive lines, Katy employs hand techniques and new technology – such as 3D printing – to create tactile, playful, wearable jewellery.
Ken Eardley -
Ken produces a range of hand built functional ceramics with hand cut stencil decoration. Having originally studied printed textiles, Ken went on to complete a masters degree in ceramics. This passion for strong pattern is reflected in the highly decorated surfaces of his ceramics.
Laila Smith Jewellery -
Laila Smith's work revolves around a love of mathematics that she has had since childhood. Laila is preoccupied with dealing with clean lines, uncluttered forms and simple designs that are clear to read as jewellery. Geometry is the branch of mathematics that deals with measurement, and relationships of points, lines, angles in space.
Laura Adburgham -
Laura Adburgham is an award-winning weaver specialising in luxurious silk and wool textiles. She hand-weaves scarves, shawls and cushions and accepts commissions. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, handwoven in her London studio on a modernised traditional wooden floor loom.
