Sheila R McDonald

Sheila originally trained at Glasgow School of Art, then at the Royal College of Art. She has been teaching adults at West Dean for several years

Her work features enamel on silver and 18ct gold with 24ct gold details, combining many traditional enamel and engraving techniques with an informal painterly style.

Drawing, watercolour and the Arts and Crafts are major influences.

My approach is to encourage students to become involved in the enamelling process as quickly as possible. I love sharing my knowledge and passion for enamel … everyone has transferrable skills.
