Priscilla Edwards

Priscilla began creating textiles while studying embroidery at MMU. It was here that she began to nurture her love of found materials and transform the lost and overlooked into arresting works of art.

Her work is held in various collections including the Embroiderers Guild Archive. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and has worked in several HE textile departments.

In 2021 Priscilla published, ‘Sculptural Textile Art’ sharing her unique techniques.

Describe your approach to teaching
My approach to teaching and learning is about sharing textile techniques and processes so that we can all enjoy the delight of creating something meaningful and personal.

What inspires your own work?
I am a compulsive collector of objects and ephemera. These, fused with personal memories, people and places in my life, inspire my making to create subjective textile pieces.
