Peter Ward

Over the past 20 years, Peter Ward has become one of the foremost authorities on earth pigments in the UK.

His work has been shared through paintings, workshops, presentations, publications and TV and radio appearances, alongside contributions to significant national and international soil and pigment-focused projects and residencies at the prestigious Porthmeor Studios, St Ives.

Peter received an MA (Art & Environment) with distinction from Falmouth University in 2012. He presently resides in West Cornwall.

Approach to teaching
My ambient good-natured character, alongside rigorous interdisciplinary research and holistic experience, has provided knowledge and inspiration for many of all ages and abilities with interest in this growing dimension of personal creative expression.

What inspires your work?
Whatever we think or believe about the condition of the contemporary world, open-minded creative contact with the materials and processes with which it is made can only further enrich and inform our lives.
