Jeremy and Carla Bonner

Jeremy and Carla Bonner established Bonner Leather Studio in 2014 just outside Cirencester, where they work together. Jeremy graduated from Birmingham School of Art and Carla graduated from Newcastle on Tyne Polytechnic.

Jeremy and Carla are also teaching short courses at the West Dean London Bloomsbury campus. (Please see the link in the Short Courses toolbar on the website)

Approach to teaching
In a cheerful and relaxed class, we aim to equip all our students with the necessary hand skills, knowledge and confidence to work with leather, while emphasizing simple straightforward design.

What inspires your own work?
We do not limit our inspiration. From archaic/defunct industrial forms of baggage through to modern product design and architecture, from artists such as Joseph Beuys, Dick Bruna all the way up to the artisan worker who remains unrecognised. The makers of wrought iron nails, three legged milking stools, baskets makers, pargeters and coopers.

Help preserve our future

We are part of a registered charity and rely on the support of generous donors, members and legacies to help us deliver world-class education in conservation, design and the creative arts and maintain our award-winning gardens.
