Catherine Johnson

Catherine is an award-winning author of 25 books for young readers. Several of her books have been nominated for the Carnegie Prize, and she won the Young Quills Award for Historical Fiction with Sawbones in 2013 and the Little Rebels Prize with Freedom in 2019. She has taught Creative Writing at several universities and at Arvon centres as well as leading the Curtis Brown Creative Writing for Children course. She has also written for film and television and is a graduate of the BBC Writers Academy. Her radio play was shortlisted for the Imison Award and the Prix Italia. She is a Royal Literature Society Fellow.
