Catherine Ade

Catherine Ade is an artist and educator based in Bristol. Since graduating with an MA in Printmaking from the University of the West of England in 2013, she has worked on prints for many professional artists at The Curwen Studio, London and now at her own studio, The Lemonade Press.

Catherine teaches lithography at The Lemonade Press in Bristol and other studios around the UK.

Catherine regularly exhibits her work and is currently preparing work to go on residencies in 2024. Catherine has co-authored a book ‘Lithography: An Artist’s Guide’, published in 2023 by Crowood Press. 

Her work is held in the collections at the Royal Academy of Arts and Tate Britain.

Describe your approach to teaching
My approach to teaching is to ensure students understand the technique so they are able to express their own visual language through the medium and the materials.

What inspires your own work? 
My own work is inspired by my own experiences of the world and the people and relationships which surround me.
