Adam Shepherd

Graduating from The English Gardening School in 2007, Adam created his first vertical garden in 2009. A member of the Society of Garden Designers, his work is regularly published, most recently on the cover of Gardens Illustrated. Passionate about plants he continues to trial new species and plant combinations at his nursery in Devon.

Describe your approach to teaching
I truly believe that the best way to learn about plants is to handle them, get some soil under your fingernails, and gain knowledge through doing and enjoying the process.

What inspires your own work?
Living in south Devon I am surrounded by wide cloud filled skies, deep green lanes, iron black rivers, shingle beaches, wildlife and even wilder weather. I find it all inspiring.
