Nature is a major source of inspiration to Sue. She combines the gentleness of undulating landscapes, the turmoil of the sea and the soft sensuality of the human form into her work. Sue uses a variety of traditional hand building techniques to create contemporary sculptural forms. Using coiling, pinching and slabbing she constructs the individual pieces, brushing, scratching and in-laying textures throughout the drying process to enhance the entrenched surfaces.
The subjects of Susan's prints range from landscapes to urban settings. Designing for a linocut encourages a selective process that results in the use of bold lines and flat areas of colour creating a decorative quality. Susan shows in galleries and art fairs, recently at Bankside in London, Art in Action and The Affordable Art Fair. She also teaches linocut and woodcut.
Susi Hines makes original and timeless jewellery in different coloured golds and silver with coloured diamonds and unusual stones using carefully worked and etched surfaces to make strong statement pieces of a unique and lasting quality. Her many construction techniques include her patented Mutabilis rings which can be adapted and expanded giving the wearer ultimate flexibility.
Richly textured decorative hand-built porcelain, born of a fascination with dramatic forms - their textures, movement and silhouettes.
Tanja's work focuses on individual silver and gold pieces with a wide range of unusual gemstones, such as rough diamonds, opals and mineralised quartzes. The often structural and heavy rings are lightened by the vibrant colour of the gemstones and the fine gold Kumboo (a Korean gold fusing technique) on the edges. The recent series of brooches contrasts vintage pieces and found objects with fine gemstones.
