About this course

Work from direct observation on a simple still life as you learn to structure an oil painting and build up colour.

Course Description

You will begin by learning about the materials and then some simple approaches to using oil paint. You will be shown techniques for structuring an oil painting, building up colour, colour mixing and observation. You will work from a simple still life, which will be set up in the studio.

The emphasis on tuition is one-to-one, so you can learn at your own pace.

By the end of the day, you will have gained an insight into the potential of this most versatile painting medium, improved your colour mixing and observational skills, and gained some techniques you can continue to develop.
