A three day drawing course that covers the fundamentals of observational drawing in a creative and engaging way.

Course Description

An engaging three day course that covers the fundamentals of observational drawing in a creative and engaging way. You will also have the opporuntiy to apply the skills you have learnt during a museum visit where you can engage in quick drawings and more detailed studies.

Day 1: FORM, COMPOSITION & PERCEPTION – the basics of drawing in 3Dimensions. Working with ways of seeing, optical illusion and abstraction – to sharpen observation for drawing.

Day 2: TONAL VALUE & STILL LIFE – Shadow and Light (tonal values).

Creative still life drawing. Old master, modern and theatrically inspired still life set ups.

Day 3: MUSEUM VISIT – engaging in quick observational drawing and more detailed studies. Applying all the skills acquired in prior sessions.

9.30am arrival on day 1. Teaching hours 10.00am - 4.00pm Breakfast refreshments and a delicious light lunch will be provided on the first day of the course. While a vegetarian option is made available, we are unable to cater to specific food intolerances or food allergies.
