Philip Tyler

Phil Tyler trained at Loughborough College of Art and Design, Virginia Commonwealth University and Brighton Polytechnic. He has taught for 33 years and runs the Printmaking Degree at Brighton. He has appeared on Sky Portrait artist of the year twice and has a track record of exhibiting nationally and internationally.

My approach to teaching focuses on the development of skills and the importance of drawing in its various forms supported by in depth art historical research.  

What inspires your own work? 
I am particular inspired by the work of Euan Uglow, Sickert, Singer Sargent, Jean Rustin and Richard Diebenkorn
