Jennifer Dinsmore has worked in conservation for over 40 years
and has been involved with practical work in sculpture
conservation, in teaching and training and as a consultant in the
area of preventive conservation and collection care. In this role
she has worked with a wide range of heritage organisations and has
participated in the development of survey methodologies and in
evaluating conservation provision, strategies and policies in
museums, libraries and archives. She was also involved in adapting
Benchmarks for Collection Care as an interactive
assessment tool.
Jennifer studied conservation at the Winterthur/University of
Delaware, Conservation of Artistic and Historic Works of Art. She
has worked in a number of national and international institutions
including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the University
of Pennsylvania Museums, Philadelphia; the Victoria and Albert
Museum and the British Museum. She was course leader of the
Conservation Studies Course at the City and Guilds of London Art
School from 1996 - 1999 and continues to teach at the School. She
has worked with Halahan Associates for over 20 years.
