Jane Bevan

Jane Bevan worked in museums for 25 years before concentrating on her artwork full-time. She studied Craft at the University of Derby and now runs workshops at a range of organisations. Her book 'Craft from natural materials' was published by Bloomsbury in 2011. Her work is in galleries and exhibitions nationwide.

How would you describe your approach to teaching?

By working with foraged, natural materials I hope to encourage others to renew their connection with nature and to respond in a playful and open way to the familiar and beautiful materials.

What inspires your own work?

I walk and forage daily in the countryside and am deeply influenced by woodlands and the changing seasons. I seek out the irregular, fine detail in materials, that others might overlook or discard.
