Jan Tregidgo

Jan is a very experienced lace maker and teacher. She is a fully qualified teacher (B.Ed Hons) and was taught Bobbin Lacemaking by the legendary tutors Miss E. Dawson of Speen and Margaret Tite. She was commissioned to write, Torchon LaceMaking - A Step by Step Guide, first published in 2010 with two reprints.

Describe your approach to teaching:

I have a friendly, professional approach, encouraging everyone to relax, learn and enjoy lace making. I discuss pattern choices beforehand, ensuring an individual tailor made course for everyone.

What inspires your own work?

I thoroughly enjoy teaching . I design lace patterns to meet my students' needs. I get a buzz watching my students develop skills, techniques and their confidence in my classes.
