Alison Baxter

Alison Baxter - Programme Co-ordinator

Alison Baxter trained at Middlesex University in jewellery and is currently studying part-time on an MA in textiles. She is Programme tutor for the FDAD and also Head of Creative Enterprise at West Dean College. She has exhibited her jewellery internationally and has work in public and private collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and Galerie Ra, Amsterdam. Alison has taught short courses at West Dean for many years and previously taught in several Art Schools across a broad range of subjects and courses.

When teaching on the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design her focus is to give students the confidence to develop their creativity and help them find the materials, media and processes that work for them.

Alison's own work is developed through exploring materiality alongside ideas imbedded in a sense of place and person.
