Why Mexico?

Mexico has a wealth of heritage crafts used by contemporary artists and we have invited a group of artists and craftspeople to share their knowledge and skills. 2015 is Dual Year the Year of Mexico in the United Kingdom and the Year of the United Kingdom in Mexico.

Mexican Week (18 - 23 October) a week of short courses inspired by Mexican culture, both traditional and contemporary with a mix of tutors either native to Mexico or whose working practice is influenced by Mexican aesthetics.

Christopher Corr teaches Painting inspired by Mexico: dreams and miracles (Suitable for all).

Experimental printmaking with Demián Flores (Intermediate).

Make papier-mâché boxes, masks and figures with Boris Spider (Suitable for all).

Carmen Rion teaches Freemform pattern cutting and garment making with Mexican Panache (Intermediate).
