Print Solo is a new online gallery entirely dedicated to original prints and artists' books. It features an international group of established artists, who sell directly from their studios.
Prue Cooper Slipware -
Prue Cooper makes press-moulded earthenware. She likes the straightforwardness of red clay, the approachability of pressed dishes, and the techniques of slipware, easily understood by the viewer. After training to be a painter, Prue spent twenty years buying and selling 18th – 20th century drawings, but gradually realised she wanted to make things – specifically things that communicate through being used. The dishes are decorated with slips, the ground colour brushed, the lettering slip-trailed, and the figures etc. transferred off newspaper cut outs, sgraffito’d before application to the damp clay. The crispness of the cut paper contrasts with the gentle relief of the slightly raised image, and the soft form of a moulded dish. The dishes are glazed with a food-safe honey glaze, and are dish-washer proof and gently oven proof.

Rachel makes beautiful jewellery using decommissioned coins as well as editioned prints and embroideries. They all have scenes of days gone by but hold a strong contemporary style.
Rachel Larkins -
Rachel Larkins has been making automata, figurative sculptures and jewellery inspired by folklore and fairy tales for almost twenty years. Fictional characters, fantastical narratives and viewer participation all influence her choice of subject matter. Rachel exhibits regularly and her work is held by private collections in this country and abroad.
Robert Race -
Robert Race is identified on his passport as a toymaker, but his work covers moving toys for children and adults; simple automata; kinetic sculpture; exhibition design; mobile decorations for hospitals and restaurants; donation boxes and interactive collections of toys for museums.Traditional moving toys have influenced him strongly, and he has travelled in Europe, Indonesia, Mexico, India and Japan in search of them. His moving toys and simple automata incorporate a wide range of natural, re-used and recycled materials.
