International Women’s Day 2021

To celebrate International Women's Day 2021, we’re highlighting the work of two forthcoming artists-in-residence, Sherie Sitauze and Sonia E Barrett. Both artists have been invited to respond to the College’s African Collection as part of the Whose Heritage? research project.

    Submissions are now open for artists from Outside In or artists that fit the criteria of the charity, to undertake a residency at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation in 2020. The selected artist will be invited to respond to the College’s Historic House, Collection and Archive as part of Whose Heritage? Rethinking the West Dean Collection.

    West Dean College is celebrating International Women's Day 2019 by highlighting the work of women across the College. This year we are focussing on writing, weaving, and composing, and showcasing our residency programme and the professional Tapestry Studio. West Dean is committed to providing equal opportunities across all of its activity in the arts, conservation and making, as well as its support staff, and are proud to support International Women's Day #BalanceforBetter campaign.
