Take part in the Easter Trail at West Dean Gardens
A perfect day out over Easter including an arts and
crafts activity
Celebrate Easter by bringing family and friends to explore the
award-winning West Dean Gardens near Chichester as they burst into
life with vibrant displays of over 500,000 spring bulbs. During the
Easter holidays from (Good Friday) 19 April - (Easter Monday) 22
April, 2019 between 9am - 5pm (Last entry 4pm), children can take
part in a traditional Easter Trail around the gardens, which will
have a sweet treat chocolate prize at the end.
For the first time, Mary Dalton (tutor in printmaking from West
Dean College of Arts and Conservation) will be running an
Easter-themed arts and craft activity in the Gardens' classroom.
Mary trained at the Royal College of Art, graduating with an MFA in
Printmaking. She has been teaching since 2008 and her work is in
the collections of the Imperial War Museum and the Tate Library as
well as international museums.
The trail will have two levels of difficulty, so it's suitable for
all ages, and there are also garden games along the way.
The Easter activities are a wonderful opportunity to bring family
and friends to explore the Gardens and see the spring flowers. The
Gardens Restaurant will be open to enjoy lunch or afternoon tea
(breakfasts available from 9am at weekends and Bank Holidays) and
browse the Shop for seasonal gifts and plants.
Cost:
Child tickets £5
Adult tickets £9.50 (normal gardens entry)
Children under 16 enjoy FREE Gardens entry, but will need an Easter
ticket to participate in the activities. Children must be
accompanied by an adult.
