Tapestry and Textile Art tutor at West Dean College shortlisted for John Ruskin Prize 2014
Master Weaver and Designer for the West Dean Tapestry Studio, Philip Sanderson, has been shortlisted for the second prestigious John Ruskin Prize Recording Britain Now. Philip, who teaches on the Visual Arts programme, created the tapestry Nowhere over 13 weeks and is one of only 23 artists selected from 588 entries received from all over the UK.

The Tapestry Studio at West Dean College, has been commissioned to hand weave a unique piece of textile art, called Play, designed by British designer Faye Toogood. The tapestry will form part of Faye Toogood’s Furniture and Coats, Roly-Poly Assemblage No. 4, and will be exhibited at the Internazionale Salone del Mobile in Milan in April.
