The aim of this course is to learn how to create stunning artistic compositions, using a pointed nib and ink.
You will start by learning how to control your nib and ink flow and progress to forming elegant letterforms and styling your calligraphy by altering the angle and width of your letters. We will look at the basic rules that govern calligraphy. We will play with the rules and learn which ones we must follow and which ones we can bend in order to create stunning ‘modern’ compositions that dance around the page! We will look at balance and how to adjust letterforms to create ‘atmosphere’ using alphabet families.
You’ll acquire the skills needed to add gorgeous, hand-lettered details to all kinds of stationery, elevate your gifting and add personalised touches to the home.
Friendly and informative, you will be guided step by step, so that you are able to build up your skills quickly and easily.
