Val Blyth

Val Blyth is the Senior Preventive conservator in Conservation Science in Conservation and Collections Management at the V&A Museum, London. Val has practiced as a preventive conservator since 2006 and has published on aspects of IPM at international conferences.

She has the responsibility for managing all aspects of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), supervising Insect pest trap monitoring across the museum site, reviewing museum policy, risk assessment and treatments for Insect infestation, risk assessment for events in museums.

Val delivers training in the following areas, pest workshop, pest ID, object handling and preventive conservation, and mentors ICON members for accreditation. She has supervised MA students and many interns over a long career.
