Tracey Sheppard Waterside Bowl

Tracey Sheppard

Tracey Sheppard studied Fine Art and English Literature for a London University BA Hons. She won Maker of the Year in the Heritage Crafts Awards 2021, is a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers, and a Master of the Art Workers' Guild 2022. Exhibiting widely, she has work in private collections and public buildings. She recently engraved south doors for Portsmouth Cathedral.

Approach to teaching:

I give students as much practical experience as possible, plenty of demonstrations illustrating specific points, and group work with discussions. I encourage experimentation, exploration, and carefully considered design.

What inspires my own work?:

I am inspired by the natural world, a love of architecture and a delight in words and well designed lettering. Glass and it's magical qualities are endlessly fascinating.
