Tanya Gomez

Tanya Gomez graduated from the Royal College of Art and is renowned for her vibrant large decorative vessels. She teaches from her studio in Lewes, East Sussex and exhibits throughout the UK and Internationally. Associated with the Craft Potters and Contemporary Applied Arts.

Approach to teaching: I love to teach and have a hands on approach, as it is one thing to see what is happening but to actually feel the clay move is vital. Everyone's style is individual and I like to find the best way for each student rather than prescribe a set of rules.

Inspiration: The Sea and the sublime experiences of its uncontrolled ever changing condition are the fundamental of my work. Also techniques, glazes and colour all have a part in creating work; it has to be dynamic, sensual and tactile.
