Susan Diab

Susan Diab is an artist and founder-member of APEC studios, Hove. She studied Languages at Oxford University then Sculpture at the University of Brighton where she now teaches Fine Art. She has shown work and published across the worlds of art and academia. In 2013 she was a selector for the East Sussex Open. Susan Diab has mentored artists at Fabrica, ARC and West Dean College.

I approach teaching as I would my own practice: paying good attention to what is occurring and welcoming the unexpected. I question and inform where necessary and aim always to encourage.

My works explore language, power and situatedness amongst other concerns. They often arrive fully formed in my mind's eye and then it is my job to make them real somehow.
