Sharon Ford

Sharon Ford works as a restorer in enamels and gilding to the London Antique Trade, also a teacher of enamelling on bowls, plaques and beads.

She is a member of the Guild of Enamellers and the winner of the Chairman’s Rose Bowl in 2018 and the Rachel Gogerly Award in 2019.

She trained at Rush Green College in art. Sharon also teaches at Higham Hall, enamelling on beads and jewellery making.

Approach to teaching
To discuss what each student wants to learn and achieve from the course and then to instruct specifically to each student how to achieve their artistic goals.

What inspires my own work
Fired enamel work has so many different applications and possibilities. The colour combinations are endless and having my studio in a rural setting in the Fens gives ideas for projects which mirror natures colours and creatures from dragonfiles to sea shells.
