Ruth Ball gained her BA Hons degree in Jewellery Design from
Middlesex University. Experience as a part time lecturer in Further
& Higher Education, coupled with years of practice in trade
enamelling, has meant that she has accomplished a wide skill base.
Keen to pass on her knowledge, she was commissioned by publishers
A&C Black to write a book about enamel techniques and she is
now recognised internationally as being practised in a variety of
enamel methods. As a member of the British Society of Enamellers,
the Association of Contemporary Jewellers, The Hand engravers
Association and a regular exhibitor at the Goldsmiths Fair, Ruth
exhibits her work in selected shows and works to commission on a
variety of projects, from items of jewellery through to larger
scale public art commission work.
Ruth aims to share the excitement that exploring enamel as a
medium holds. Sessions start informally with a step-by-step
approach, and progress to enable the development of each individual
maker's unique pieces.
