Max Crisfield was Senior Gardener (kitchen gardener) at Parham House and Gardens for five years. Before that he worked at National Trust Nymans in West Sussex. He will soon be joining a new team on a prestigious private garden in West Sussex. He has taught at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation and the Garden House in Brighton and has had articles published in The Telegraph and The English Garden.

My teaching method is a combination of practical demonstrations and classroom-based theory.
What inspires your own work?
I have a particular interest in combining ornamental and edible plants in both an aesthetic and productive way, creating eye-catching potager mixes.
