Describe your approach to teaching:

I prefer a practical approach, demonstrating glaze testing and only introducing the more scientific principles once the students are familiar with the process.

What inspires your own work?

I am inspired by midcentury ceramics, particularly by studio potters such as Lucie Rie and designers in the ceramics industry including Eva Zeisel.
Colour is an important part of my work, inspired by a diverse range of influences including textiles and nature. My latest work is inspired by the paintings of Giorgio Morandi.
