Kaori Tatebayashi

Kaori is originated from an Arita ware merchandising family in Japan. She studied BA and MA in ceramics at University in Kyoto and was an exchange scholar at RCA in 1996. She has taught pottery in Japan and WAES in London. Kaori is a member of CPA and exhibits widely in the U.K. and at international fairs ( COLLECT, CAL, SOFA, Highlights )

I have taught different age groups, children, adults and over60's, have flexible approach to meet each student's requirements. Overall, I have a Japanese teaching style, emphasizing the importance of mastering the fundamental skills to be developed later.

The material itself inspires my work. By sculpting, I am keeping a diary of objects I am fascinated by and capturing the time the object once lived in and preserving it in clay instead of my memory.
