Jonathan Gildersleeves

Jonathan has an MA Drawing from Wimbledon School of Art. He went on to work as assistant to the late Sir Anthony Caro OM and co-founded the artists collective The Drawing Factory. Jonathan has taught at a range of art colleges and currently teaches two courses he has written at Central St Martins College of Art and Design. He exhibits in the UK and internationally.

Describe your approach to teaching:

Playful and experimental process driven sessions, incorporating group and individual tasks which are designed to liberate students, allowing them to produce exciting work, quickly and freely.

What inspires your own work?

Organic form, architecture, botany, evolution, play, day-to-day observations, chance, literature, music, waste, juxtaposition...
