Jason Mosseri

Jason makes contemporary, stylish Windsor chairs. He was taught by chair maker Paul Hayden. As part of his business, Jason teaches chair making 'without electricity' in a Sussex woodland. He exhibits his chairs at design and craft fairs, including the West Dean Arts and Craft Festival. His work is often published in magazines.

How would you describe your approach to teaching?

My approach to teaching is to provide specific guidance and show students the exact techniques required to make a great chair, whilst also allowing space in the process for personal creative expression and learning.

What inspires your own work?

My inspiration comes in many forms. Historic chairs, tattooing, sculpture, playfulness, Japanese craft, daydreaming, folk art, to name but a few.
