Describe your approach to teaching.

I work firstly with the whole student group sharing ideas and exploring ways to translate images and themes into embroidered textiles. I then work with individual students, encouraging them to realise their original ideas by the application of stitches.

What inspires your own work?

Ceramic vessels are often the subject matter for my textiles. I am inspired by their forms and playing with the arrangement of patterns and the juxtapositions of colours. Often the representative work leads on to abstract pieces.
