Helaina Sharpley
Helaina has been working with wire for over 10 years, graduating
from Hereford College of Arts in 2006, BA (hons) Design Crafts and
running workshops with all ages throughout her career. In 2016 she
ran workshops in Tokyo, Japan. The artist works from her studio at
The West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
Describe your approach to teaching
My approach to teaching is to show the skills I use and give the
students the confidence to use the material in their own way.
What inspires your own work?
I am inspired by tea and tea drinking and Victorian and Edwardian
elegance, including intricate architecture, costume and
transport.
