Gillie Hoyte Byrom

Gillie Hoyte Byrom studied at the Llotja School in Barcelona and has devoted almost 40 years to mastering and becoming an expert in miniaturist enamelling techniques. Gillie is also a qualified teacher with experience of taking workshops in UK and abroad. She has won national and international awards for her work and her miniatures are housed in many public and private collections.

In 2018 Gillie published a hardback book titled 'The Practice of Painting in Enamel'.

Gillie aims to teach you as much as possible in the time available and likes to tailor her teaching to your individual needs.

Gillie paints portrait miniatures to commission and teaches this specialist work 1:1 at her studio in Devon. In parallel, she enjoys inventing new methods of working at enamel painting more freely with sponges, brushes, pen etc.
