Gillian Hazeldine

Gillian Hazeldine is a Fellow of the Society of Scribes & Illuminators and a Full Member of Letter Exchange. She has been teaching calligraphy at all levels for 28 years. She works to commission and for exhibition. She is author of 'Contemporary Calligraphy, published by Robert Hale in 2011.

My teaching is through demonstration and discussion. I enjoy finding out what the expectations and needs of my students are and working with them to fulfil these.

My own work is influenced by my background as a graphic designer, so design, both of letterform and layout is important. I work with words that mean something to me personally.
