Emily Jo Gibbs

Emily Jo Gibbs is a British artist who over the last two decades has established an international reputation for her exquisite work. Emily also has experience delivering workshops, practical demonstrations and artists talks for a variety of clients including the V&A, Embroiderers guilds and the Crafts Council. Emily is a member of the 62 Group of Textile Artists.

Describe your approach to teaching:

I'm hands on and encouraging. I'm keen to pass on my knowledge and passion for colour and texture.

What inspires your own work?

Determined to make work that was personally and creatively rewarding I embarked on a series of embroidered portraits of my family.
