Dean Johnston

Dean Johnston has been a bricklayer for 16 years and has worked exclusively within conservation for 10 years. He is currently lead bricklayer at Hampton Court Palace for Simpson Brickwork Conservation Ltd., working on a range of projects, including the repair of a set of 4 cut and rubbed chimney stacks. He has a wealth of experience within brickwork conservation, from minimal re-pointing to recording, dismantling and re-building entire historic facades. The aspect of his work that Dean most enjoys is the fact he can protect and prolong the life of so many beautiful buildings.
