Clare Brown

Clare spent twenty years managing and working as a florist in Surrey before moving to RHS Wisley, buying, displaying and tending houseplants. Since having a family and working at Parham House, Clare set up Lavant Valley Flowers where she grows and sells cut flowers from her cottage garden to selected, local outlets.

Describe your approach to teaching:

I have a very practical approach to my teaching with particular emphasis on colour. I am a firm believer in a hands-on method, using mostly visual teaching techniques.

What inspires your own work?

I am passionate about home grown flowers that last in a vase. Evolving ways to use colour in arranging is key to my work and it’s where we all become individually creative.
