Annabel Tilley

Annabel Tilley, graduate of the University of Brighton and shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize, has a drawing-based and sketchbook practice and has exhibited widely and undertaken several residencies. She is a lecturer, co-author of What they didn't teach you in art school (Octopus Books, 2016) and co-Founder of Zeitgeist Arts Projects (2012-2015).

Describe your approach to teaching:
My approach to teaching stems from a passion for the subject: sketchbooks and collage, and the use of quick, time-based exercises to free-up participants to take risks and create new work.

What inspires your work?
In my drawing-based practice I use architecture, art history and museum collections to make my work. Part of my practice involves making sketchbooks and using them in larger works.
