Ane Christensen

Ane Christensen grew up in Denmark. She set up her practise in London in 1999 after completing an MA in metalwork at the RCA. She has lectured in art colleges in both UK and South Korea. Her work is represented in the V&A, Crafts Council, Goldsmiths' Company and Birmingham Museum collections.
When teaching metalwork, I believe that learning to develop and refine an idea is as important as learning the practical skill needed to realise that idea.

My inspiration for my own work comes from the city I live in. The tension between old and new, 'negative spaces' between buildings and the complex layers of history all translate directly into my work.
