Andrew Braund

Andrew is studying on the MA Conservation Studies in metalwork at West Dean College. Building on a foundation of largely self-taught skills studying both craft and conservation of metals. Still building a portfolio, most of his previous work has been recreating historic objects. As well as a passion for the historical, Andrew has a particular interest in arms and armour.

Describe your approach to teaching

I teach in a structured yet informal and approachable fashion.  Helping students to learn new skills whilst having an enjoyable experience.

What inspires your own work?

I am inspired by historical works and items with a particular interest in arms and armour.  I particularly admire items that encapsulate both beauty and functionality.
