Alex Jones learnt his craft at City & Guilds Art College and in a traditional studio before concentrating commissions.
His work can be seen at Durrell (Jersey), Lost Gardens of Heligan (Cornwall) and The Oasis Academy Lordshill Southampton. It is included in private collections world wide and has featured on the BBC's " Spring Watch "
I believe wood carving should be taught in an exciting contemporary way and want to help my students develop their designing and carving skills to their optimum.
My own work is driven by the influence fine wood carving and scale can have on a subject. Ugly can become beautiful and common, exotic.
