Abigail Bainbridge (MA)

ASSOCIATE TUTOR, Book Conservation

Abigail Bainbridge is a book and paper conservator with eight years of experience in the UK, the US, and Europe. Abigail teaches conservation science at a leading art and design college and runs a private practice in conservation in London.

Abigail is the treasurer of the Book & Paper Group of Icon and belongs to IADA and the Society of Bookbinders. She has a MA with distinction from West Dean College and a BFA with highest honors from the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Research interests include 18th century French bookbinding and conservation science, in particular the non-destructive analysis of paper degradation.

Abigail is active in the College's Conservation Research Group.
